Productivity is a Tailored Suit

There’s a bunch of productivity and time management information out there.

There’s also a huge demand for it. Many people seek the magic formula that will get them more work done.

But every time I look at the comment section of the next generic “5 Tips To Manage Your Time” post, I see the same thing over and over again:

“That all sounds pretty but it doesn’t work with me because of __________.”

Kids. Family. Illness. Lifestyle. You name it. Many people can’t just make it work.

Some can though. We all have the same hours in the day, so what is missing?

…Many resources out there are a one size fits all.

You don’t expect to get into a one size store and find the perfect shirt if you’re taller than average. Or smaller. Or thinner. Right?

You kind of know your measures and you make it work.

And if you really want the perfect suit, then you go to a Tailor.

Learning to manage your tasks according to your time and energy is like coming up with a tailored suit.

You need to know your measures, and then learn how to sew…

…or hire someone to sew it for you.

Your routine and energy levels are yours and yours only.

Develop a strategy that works with your own rhythm.
