We’ve all gone through this. Sometimes we wake up feeling the weight of the World on our shoulders. Sometimes life is so weird we can’t even think. And then we ask ourselves:
“Is there a way for me to not feel like this?”
Well. You’ll always have have some sort of overwhelm pop up from time to time. I can’t promise you that it won’t happen…
…but you can reduce it.
Most people react to emotional changes in one of two ways:
- Widely open the emotional door and attempt to solve everything in the moment (and get overwhelmed in the process).
- Shut the door and refuse to deal with anything at all (and wait for it to burst open sooner or later).
I believe there’s a third way to deal with stress:
- Stop trying to be a door and consider being a dam.
Don’t negate the emotions. Instead, learn to accept them, bit by bit. Say no to things. Deal with what absolutely needs to be dealt with and focus your energy on those and those alone.
