A Bucket Full Of Water (Part 3) :: Water Waste Through Multitasking

This is part 3 of a 4-part series designed to help you be more in touch with your energy levels and the various ways to manage it.

Click here if you missed part 2.

There are many ways to spend your water…

You spend water (energy) when you do a task, you can have it stolen by birds and you can also waste it.

..but how does water waste happen?

Most of the time you don’t even realize you’re wasting water until, all of a sudden, you’re exhausted.

One of the biggest energy creeps of all is multitasking.

It sure sounds like a very productive thing to do, but more often than not, when we try to multitask, what we’re actually doing is jumping from task to task at an incredible speed. We’re not solving two problems at the same time, we’re just solving one, then another, then jumping back…

And one of the biggest energy drains when you work, is to just start. When you get your focus, you get in a flow and things start moving, right?

You’re more likely to blow a bulb if you keep turning it off and on instead of just letting it stay on for a while. The exact same thing happens with your brain.

In our bucket metaphor, I call this splashing your water. You’re not diving in, you’re just splashing your energy away for no good reason. And then a lot of it ends up unused on the ground.

For now, hold on to your water. Don’t splash it.

Stay focused.

Hi Ania! (great name btw!) I have strayed here from the Magic Box Facebook Group 🙂

I love reading your blog posts they are simple and very wise, a breath of fresh air amid the internets’ barrage of information!

Finding your blog is like finding a beautiful garden in the middle of big bustling city, a little space I can stop to reflect, ponder and look at pretty things!

But for now back to the hustle and bustle! Looking forward to your next post 🙂
